Dr. Marco Moia
Graduated in 1980 and specialized in Hematology in 1984 in Milan. After a period of training at the University Hospital of Utrecht, The Netherlands, from 1987 he began his activity at the Hemophilia and Thrombosis Center of Maggiore Hospital “Policlinico” of Milan where he was Head of Operative Unit of Pathophysiology of Blood Coagulation and then Head of the Anticoagulant Therapy Unit, until 2018.
In those years he has performed clinical and research activities on blood coagulation (hemorrhagic and thromboembolic diseases, anticoagulant and antiplatelet agents), publishing more than 100 research papers in international medical journals such as New England Journal of Medicine, Lancet, Blood, Thrombosis and Haemostasis and participating as a speaker at numerous international medical conferences.
Member of National and International Scientific Societies, former Advisor of the Italian Society for the Study of Haemostasis and Thrombosis (SISET) and President of the Italian Federation of Anticoagulation Clinics (FCSA). He is reviewer for numerous international scientific journals and has coordinated a European project of computerization in Healthcare in the countries of the Mediterranean area. He gave lectures in many Countries, also on behalf of the International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis (ISTH).
His clinical activity is specifically dedicated to the diagnosis, prevention and therapy of thromboembolic diseases, to the use of anticoagulant and antiplatelet drugs, and to bleeding disorders.
