A surgeon and sonographer, he was a consultant and head of the Ultrasound Diagnostics and Interventional Ultrasound Service in the Emergency Surgery Department of Fondazione IRCCS Ca’ Granda Ospedale Maggiore Policlinico in Milan until 2020, a referral centre for biopsies and ultrasound-guided procedures for the Policlinico’s wards and other regional hospitals.
He practises general surgery and medical and surgical ultrasound, including interventional ultrasound. Since 1990 he has been adjunct professor and then tutor at the Emergency Surgery Specialisation School of the University of Milan, and he has authored around 150 publications and textbooks on surgery and ultrasound.
He also practises surgery and ultrasound at Casa di Cura La Madonnina and surgery at Clinica Columbus in Milan.
