Head of the Heart Valve Center at IRCCS San Raffaele Hospital in Milan and full professor of Cardiac Surgery at Vita-Salute San Raffaele University.

He specialises in heart valve surgery and in transcatheter procedures on the mitral, tricuspid and aortic valves.

He has worked at San Raffaele since 1997; he is a fellow of the European Society of Cardiology and a member of the main European cardiac surgery and cardiology societies.
